Why 50KB is tricky
A 50KB limit sounds simple until you try uploading a phone camera photo. Most mobile photos start between 1MB and 6MB, so the file has to become much smaller without losing the face, document text, or signature edges. The safest approach is to reduce dimensions first, then tune image quality.
A practical workflow
Start with the Compress Image tool and choose the 50KB target. If the download is still too large, lower the max width to around 800-1200 pixels for normal form photos. For a headshot or document crop, use the Resize Image tool first, then compress again.
What not to do
Do not repeatedly screenshot the image through messaging apps. It may blur text, add compression artifacts, or change the photo ratio. Also avoid uploading sensitive documents to unknown online compressors just because they promise a smaller file.
Best settings to try
For most form photos, a JPG export at medium quality with a reduced width works well. If the image contains small document text, keep dimensions higher and reduce quality more carefully. Always open the final image once before submitting it.
