Use a clean source

A signature works best when written with a dark pen on plain white paper. Take the photo in good light, crop close to the signature, and avoid shadows across the page. A clean source file makes resizing easier.

Crop before resizing

Most signature uploads fail because the image has too much blank paper around it. Crop the signature area first, then resize to the exact pixels required by the form. This keeps the writing readable even at a small KB size.

Reduce file size carefully

If your signature has to be under 20KB or 50KB, use JPG output and reduce dimensions gradually. Do not compress so much that the strokes break or become grey.

Privacy note

A signature is sensitive. Use browser-side tools where possible and avoid uploading it to random sites. ProtectMyPhoto is designed so everyday signature resizing can happen locally in your browser.
